Lakehouse architecture
End-to-end platform design on Azure and Databricks: workspace topology, medallion layers, storage and compute strategy, cost control at scale.
łukasz turek - consultant, kraków, poland
I design and run enterprise lakehouse platforms - from governance and security through pipelines and monitoring to BI - for organisations that treat data as infrastructure, not an afterthought.

End-to-end platform design on Azure and Databricks: workspace topology, medallion layers, storage and compute strategy, cost control at scale.
Unity Catalog rollouts, access models, network security and compliance for multi-workspace enterprise environments.
Batch and streaming ingestion with ADF, Delta and Kafka - including integration with SAP ERP and BW/HANA landscapes.
Azure infrastructure monitoring and data-completeness checks, so platform teams learn about issues before the business does.
AI-assisted analytics on the lakehouse - from Databricks AI/BI to applied AI use cases built directly on governed data.
Power BI and semantic layers that business teams actually use - modelled, documented, performant.
~/sap × azure
Before the lakehouse, there was SAP - and I never left. Years of hands-on work across the full SAP BW stack: administration, data modelling, process chains, performance tuning, and native HANA development, including calculation views built close to the metal.
That combination is rare and it matters: most enterprises don't get to choose between SAP and the cloud - they run both. I speak both languages natively, which makes SAP-to-lakehouse integrations and migrations a conversation, not a translation exercise.
~/about
I've worked in data for over a decade - starting in 2013 with ABAP development in SAP ERP and BW, and moving with the industry into cloud data platforms. Today I lead architecture for large-scale Databricks environments in enterprise retail, covering everything from network security perimeters to executive dashboards.
I work as a consultant, currently embedded with a leading FMCG retail group in Poland, and I'm open to contract engagements across Poland and the DACH region.
